"OHI PEZOUME"

Ohi Pezoume NPO was established in 2004 by director George Sachinis and choreographer Eirini Alexiou. The team's members come from different origins of art and science. The team creates performances the combine theatre, dance and the space of performance itself, from a theatrical scene (circle “Writers of the World”) to the city (program “UrbanDig Project”). With UrbanDig Project, the local community open their home, comes out to the program's “neighbourhood”, becomes the protagonist in revealing itself. Our performance becomes the final, but not the only destination of a dynamic process of building relations, archive and narrative of the city. The team has been excelled, among others, in AltoFest 2015 (1st award), in ACEA EcoArt International Contest 2011, in TEDxAthens Challenge 2010 (1st award) and has taken part in the Greek participation in Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space 2015. For Ohi Pezoume NPO, the city is a scene in open or closed space, while our actions and performances are ways of presentation – intervention – appropriation. We leave while... staying.
